Mifuko´s Kiondo baskets are a sophisticated and fun blend of traditional Kenyan craftsmanship and contemporary Scandinavian design. Easy-to-maintain, durable and versatile.

With their clean design and lovely handwoven textures, Kiondos are both beautiful and functional, but did you know that they also are environmentally sustainable and ethically produced?

Kiondos are produced following the principles of Fair Trade and help bring secure incomes and fair working conditions to Kenyan artisans.

Mifuko´s Kiondos are handwoven using Kenyan sisal and food grade plastics that are 80% recycled, their appearance and size vary slightly from basket to basket. From $75.

Marie Talaleff graduated from the reputed ESMOD Fashion design and Creation school in Paris and went on to work for a number of years as a creative designer for different textile companies.

In 2008, she discovered the plasticity of paper, giving her the freedom to move from flat (as in textile) to volume. Paper has since become her favorite material.

She was selected by the Korean Craft and Design Foundation and AAF to go and live in Seoul for a month with the Korean artist, Sim Hwa-sook, who creates from traditional Korean paper called Hanji.

This trip to Asia radically changed her view on paper and on her own work techniques.

Marie Talalaeff creates from paper and her works are unique.

Her subjects are always animals. $1300 each
