Charity De Meer
Charity began photographing seriously when her mother had two children with her new stepfather. At first a very unwilling participant, Charity realized she had two captive models which to mold and shoot at will. Dressed in tutus and cowboy boots, prancing in front of old airstream trailers with shotguns, Charity and her sisters discovered art.
The Pet Project began when she saw a very high-heeled woman wrangling her very unruly Pomeranian. She began exploring the relationship between people and their pets, & how it often involved their fashion sense. Shooting from the waist down gave a unique “dogs-point-of-view” perspective.
