Tierney Gearon
The Collection by Tierney Gearon began in St. Barts in the early 1990s, where the artist first discovered her love for Hermès beach towels. Drawn to their vibrant colors, playful patterns, and craftsmanship, what started as a single treasured towel gradually grew into a collection of over 350 pieces.
Inspired by their beauty, Gearon embarked on a three-year photographic journey, capturing her towels in destinations around the world, including Japan, India, Mexico, Marrakech, Greece, Hawaii, and her beloved St. Barts. Each towel becomes part of its surroundings, blending art, design, and photography with the natural and cultural landscapes.
Deeply personal, The Collection is a visual diary reflecting Gearon’s life as an artist, mother, traveler, and collector. Through her spontaneous and colorful approach, she transforms everyday objects into works of art, celebrating creativity, memory, and the connection between beauty and place.
